When we refer to Size Reduction we are quite simply talking about making big things smaller.
This includes shredding, granulating, pulverization, milling (hammer mill or ball mill), and shearing.
The Size Reduction process has a cost but does not necessarily increase the value of the raw underlying commodity. In many cases Size Reduction is required as a prerequisite to sorting.
